Charlie Kennedy, industry veteran, has done it again. His new company, Revolution Mills, is gaining industry recognition for its innovation and attention to performance in product.
Charlie began his career at Bigelow in Greenville, SC before moving his family to Pinehurst, NC to begin working with JP Stevens, later named Gulistan. After over 30 years in product development, he was granted the opportunity to become president. After 5 years as president, he sold his interest and started Phenix Flooring in Dalton.
Phenix Flooring became a success under Charlie’s reign. After leaving Phenix, he dreamed of starting a mill one more time. He had registered the name Revolution Mills years ago with the thought of using it more in the future.
Since it’s inception in 2016, Revolution Mills has strived to make the finest quality products possible. The company currently carries high-performance soft solution-dyed polyester residential carpet, SPC, and carpet tile. Once the products and business plans were developed, his son Zach Kennedy, and his son-in-law, Chris Williams joined Revolution Mills to run the day-to-day operations.
Zach Kennedy most recently spent almost 14 years developing the Phenix brand, selling to national accounts, distributors and local dealers. Zach will lead the Revolution Mills Sales and Marketing team.
Chris Williams has brought extensive knowledge to Revolution Mills from his experience at Lowe’s. Chris served in many different capacities over his 23 year tenure there, notably serving as the hardwood flooring, rug and paint merchant among other roles. Chris’s last role with Lowe’s before joining Revolution Mills was overseeing the Global Sourcing team, while based in Shanghai, China. Chris will lead all company operations.
